Hello and Welcome!
Hi!
It’s me, Stacey.
Welcome to my peri-menopausal journal.
I’ll be sharing it here + on my blog.
Why both?
Well, insta doesn’t allow long posts, and, Dear Reader, I do not embrace brevity.
Plus Insta can erase you like *snap*
But that doesn’t mean I’m only going to share one-liners here.
Remember: I’m Brevity Challenged.
What I will be sharing: all the ups + downs of this wild chapter in my life.
Not sure about you, but when I reached a certain age I was armed with a wealth of info:
my first period (got it, I’m ready!),
possible pregnancy (so much info),
SEX (have you met Cosmo? I have!)
I now find myself in a stage of life where I had only heard subtle whispers.
Hushed voices talking about “The Change”.
But not much more.
Nothing from the people in my life who went through it - no helpful info from doctors.
I suddenly find myself buried under symptoms that truly feel like I am being smothered to death.
With no real advice on how to keep breathing.
So I am here to loudly speak about my journey.
It’ll be about me.
But it’s also about informing you because maybe you too had NO FRIGGIN’ IDEA this shit was about to or will hit.
I’m here to let you know that your voice matters, and that your symptoms are NOT in your head.
And that you deserve to feel good again.
I’m going to share all the things I’m doing to try to get back to feeling like ME again.
Because as of right now, I don’t know who I am.
This is an upheaval that I was not prepared for.
And if I can help one person from thinking they’re going insane (you’re not), then, good.
Also, I need to get these conversations out of my head.
So come along with me, pop in anytime you like.
Say HI.
Share your stories or tips.
Be kind.
I know I DSRV to feel like me again.
And you do too.
Be good to you.
ILY
